Word status and history
How to see when a word comes back, move it to another stage, take it out of practice or reset its review history in PlayLingo.
Each saved entry has its own practice schedule. Its status sheet shows where the word is now and lets you change that by hand.
How to open a word’s status
- Open the Vocabulary tab.
- Tap the stage ring next to the entry — or on its card, next to Tell Me More.
The ring is also on the answer side of a card in practice. A paused entry shows a pause icon instead of the ring.
At the top of the sheet you see Next review — when the word comes back — or Excluded from practice / Not in practice yet.
Change status
The sheet lists all stages, each with what it means and when the word would come back:
| Stage | Meaning |
|---|---|
| New | Hasn’t been practiced yet. |
| Learning | Needs to be seen often. |
| In review | Already in memory, but needs reinforcing at growing intervals. |
| Mastered | You consistently remember it. |
- Tap the stage you want.
- Confirm it in Change learning status?
Choose Mastered for a word you already know well — it will come back rarely. Choose Learning to see it more often. Your answer history is kept.
In practice
Turn off In practice to stop reviewing an entry. It stays in your vocabulary and stays highlighted in subtitles, but never comes up in practice. Turn it back on at any time.
In a practice summary, words you keep missing get a Pause button that does the same.
Review History
Review History lists your answers to this entry: Remembered, Remembered, but not right away or Forgot, with the date, the exercise and how many days the answer pushed the card ahead. The first line, Next time, shows which exercise comes next.
Reset History
- Tap Reset History at the bottom of the sheet.
- Confirm.
The word returns to practice as a new one, and its answer history is deleted.
Common questions
Changed the stage during a session — why didn’t the card leave?
The current portion is fixed when it starts. The new schedule applies from the next portion.
Where do I delete the word?
Not in this sheet — see Editing and deleting words.
Is the history the same on all my devices?
The stage and schedule sync. The detailed answer log stays on the device where you practiced.
