Watch mode
Watch mode in PlayLingo shows the line and its translation with no pauses. Watch at your own pace, tap words you don’t know and save them.
Watch is the default mode: the video plays normally, and you see each line with its translation. Nothing is hidden and nothing waits for you.
How to use Watch mode
- Open a video. On the video page, the mode row under the Watch button shows the current mode — tap it to change.
- In the player, tap the round mode button in the side controls and choose Watch.
- Read the line and its translation as the video plays.
- Tap any word you don’t know to get an explanation, and save it to your vocabulary. See Word explanations.
What you see
- The current line in the language you learn.
- The translation under it. Turn it on or off with the Translation row in the mode sheet.
- Optional layers you switch on when you need them: pronunciation above words and part-of-speech highlighting. See Pronunciation above words.
When to use it
In the app’s words: turn it on when you just want to watch, or when the video is hard.
Related settings
- Auto-pause is off when you enter Watch. Turn it on with the auto-pause button under the line (or A on a keyboard) if you want the video to stop after every line. Your choice is remembered for Watch and doesn’t affect other modes.
- Loop, Slow mode and repeat work as usual. See Playback controls.
- Tap a line in the list to jump to that moment in the video.
Free or Pro
Watch mode is free. Watching time uses your free daily energy — 10 minutes by default; with Pro it’s unlimited. Pronunciation above words and part-of-speech highlighting need Pro. See Free and Pro.
