Editing and deleting words
How to fix the text or translation of a saved word, regenerate its details, or delete it from your PlayLingo vocabulary.
You can correct any saved entry by hand, ask PlayLingo to fill in its details again, or remove it.
How to edit a word
- Open the Vocabulary tab.
- Press and hold the entry in the list, or open its card and tap ⋯.
- Tap Edit.
- Change Text or Translation.
- Tap Save.
If you change the text, PlayLingo may move the entry to another tab — for example, from Words to Phrases.
Regenerate
If the translation or other details on a card look wrong, open the card, tap ⋯ and choose Regenerate. PlayLingo fills in the entry’s details again with AI. Dots show while it works.
Regenerate is available on the card, not in the list.
Delete a word
- Press and hold the entry in the list, or open its card and tap ⋯.
- Tap Delete.
- Confirm Delete.
Deleting removes the entry together with its translation, explanation and review history. It can’t be undone.
You can also delete a word from its card during practice: open the answer side and use ⋯.
Keep a word without practicing it
If you don’t want to review a word but want to keep it, don’t delete it. Tap its stage ring and turn off In practice — see Word status and history.
Common questions
Can I delete a saved sentence right from the video?
Yes. Tap the save icon under the line again, or the save icon in the explanation panel — the entry is removed from your vocabulary.
Will a deleted word disappear on my other devices?
Yes, if you’re signed in to the same account on those devices — see Sync between devices.
