Restore purchases

How to get PlayLingo Pro back on a new or reset device with Restore Purchases, redeem a code, and what “Waiting for approval” means.

ProChecked October 8, 2026

Pro is tied to the store account you bought it with: your Apple ID on iPhone, iPad and Mac, or your Google Play account on Android. If Pro isn’t active on a new device or after reinstalling, restore it in a few taps.

How to restore purchases

  1. Make sure the device is signed in to the same Apple ID (or, on Android, the same Google Play account) you used to buy Pro.
  2. Open Settings → PlayLingo Pro.
  3. Tap Restore Purchases.

You can also tap Restore on the plan screen.

What the result means

  • “Purchases restored — Your Pro access is back.” Pro is active again.
  • “Nothing to restore — No purchases found for this Apple ID.” This Apple ID has no active PlayLingo subscription. Check which Apple ID you paid with: the receipt email from Apple shows it.
  • “Couldn’t restore purchases” — check your internet connection and try again.

Redeem a code

If you have an offer code for Pro:

  1. Open Settings → PlayLingo Pro.
  2. Tap Redeem Code.
  3. Enter the code in the App Store window.

Ask to Buy: “Waiting for approval”

If your Apple ID is part of Family Sharing with Ask to Buy on, the purchase waits for the family organiser. You’ll see “Waiting for approval — Pro turns on as soon as the purchase is approved.” After approval, you’ll see “Pro is on”.

Common questions

Do I need to buy Pro again on my iPad or Mac?

No. Use the same Apple ID and tap Restore Purchases.

Restore Purchases isn’t in Settings.

The button only appears when Pro isn’t active. If you see “You have Pro access”, there’s nothing to restore.

My subscription expired. Will Restore bring it back?

No. Restore only finds active subscriptions. Choose a plan again to renew Pro.

Is my progress tied to Pro?

No. Words, history and streak belong to your PlayLingo account, not to the subscription. See Missing words or progress.
