Export vocabulary
How to export saved words from PlayLingo as an Anki deck with links to video moments, a CSV table for Excel or Quizlet, or a printable PDF.
With Pro you can take your saved words out of PlayLingo as a file: a flashcard deck, a spreadsheet or a document to print.
How to export vocabulary
- Open the Vocabulary tab.
- Pick what to export: a tab (All, Words, Phrases, Sentences), a filter chip, or a single deck.
- Tap the export button (square with an arrow) in the top-right corner.
- All entries in the list are selected. Tap entries to unselect them, or use Select All / Deselect All.
- Tap Export (N).
- In Export Vocabulary, choose a format.
- Choose where to send the file: save to Files, AirDrop, mail or another app.
Tap Cancel to leave selection without exporting.
CSV table
For Numbers, Excel, Quizlet and other apps. The first two columns are the word and its translation, so flashcard apps that import two columns get a working card right away. Other columns: sentence, pronunciation, dictionary form, part of speech, level, link to the video moment, video title, source, date saved.
Anki deck
Cards with links to video moments. The front is the word; the back has the translation, the line from the video with the word in bold, pronunciation and part of speech, and a link that opens the video at that moment.
Import into Anki
- Save the file (it ends in
-anki.txt) to your computer or phone. - In Anki, choose File → Import (on desktop) and select the file.
- Anki reads the settings from the file: Basic note type, a deck named PlayLingo:: plus your language, and the tag
playlingo. Confirm the import.
Anki 2.1.54 or later is needed. If you export the same words again later, Anki updates the existing notes instead of creating duplicates.
PDF document
Your words as a printable booklet: each entry with its pronunciation, translation and the line it came from. Print it or share it like any other file.
Free or Pro
Export is a Pro feature. On the free plan, the export button opens a screen about Pro. See Free and Pro and pricing.
Common questions
Can I export just one video’s words?
Yes. Open Decks, tap the video, and use the export button there.
Does export include my practice progress?
No. The file contains the words and their details, not the review schedule.
