Vocabulary screen
What you see in the PlayLingo Vocabulary tab — tabs, decks by video or channel, Fresh, Tricky and Almost known collections, search and word cards.
The Vocabulary tab holds everything you saved from videos. At the top is today’s practice card; below it, the full list of your entries.
How to find a saved word
- Open the Vocabulary tab.
- In the search field (Search N saved), type part of the word, its dictionary form or its translation.
- Tap a result to open its card.
Tabs
- All — the whole vocabulary.
- Words, Phrases, Sentences — one kind of entry.
- Decks — the same entries grouped by where you saved them. Appears once you have saved something from a video.
Each tab has its own row of filter chips under it. On Words they are parts of speech, on Phrases — phrase types, on Sentences — sayings.
Stages and collections
On All, the chips filter by practice stage — New, Learning, In review, Mastered — and by collection:
| Collection | What’s inside |
|---|---|
| Fresh | Added today and yesterday |
| Tricky | Words your memory keeps dropping — they came back to practice three times or more |
| Almost known | One or two good answers away from being learned |
Stages and collections count only entries that are in practice. Empty chips are hidden.
Decks
On Decks, choose By video or By channel. A deck shows how many entries are saved, known and to practice.
Word card
Tap an entry to open its card: the video clip of that moment, the word with pronunciation and translation, and the line it came from. You can:
- replay the clip, loop it, change speed or mute it;
- tap Tell Me More for a deep dive (Pro);
- tap the stage ring to see its status and history;
- use ⋯ to edit, regenerate or delete.
Swipe to move between cards in the current list.
Tab badge
The number on the Vocabulary tab shows how many cards your next practice portion has. It appears when you’re signed in and there is something to review.
