Free and Pro
What you can do in PlayLingo for free every day, what the daily limits are, and what PlayLingo Pro adds.
PlayLingo is free to use every day. The free plan has daily limits; PlayLingo Pro removes them and adds features for people who learn a lot. Prices and billing are on the pricing page.

Limits may change over time. The current defaults are below.
Energy
- Watching videos uses energy. By default the free plan includes 10 minutes of watching a day, the same for every language.
- Energy refills every day at midnight.
- Explanations and chat with Lingo work while you have energy left.
- Practice and exercises don’t use energy.
- When it runs out, you’ll see “You’re out of energy for today” with a choice to get unlimited energy with Pro or come back tomorrow.
Daily free limits
- Build and Speak: 10 lines a day each by default.
- Vocabulary practice: one portion a day (up to 15 cards).
What Pro adds
- Unlimited watching, explanations, exercises and practice.
- Deep dives: word forms, grammar, origin, frequency and examples.
- Pronunciation above words: IPA for any language, furigana or rōmaji for Japanese, pinyin or zhuyin for Chinese, romanization for Korean, stress marks for Russian and Ukrainian, and more.
- Part-of-speech highlighting in subtitles, when you learn English.
- Export your vocabulary to Anki, CSV or PDF.
Plans
Pro is available as monthly and annual subscriptions, and in some countries as a Family plan for you and up to five others. Prices depend on your country and are shown before you pay.
Common questions
How do I restore Pro on a new device?
In Settings → PlayLingo Pro, tap Restore Purchases, using the same Apple ID you bought with.
How do I cancel?
For purchases in the app: iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → PlayLingo. You keep Pro until the end of the paid period.
Is there a limit even with Pro?
Pro has no daily limits in the app. There’s a technical daily cap on translations and explanations on the server to protect the service; regular learning never gets close to it.
