Account and sign in
How to sign in to PlayLingo with Apple or Google, use the app without an account, see your devices and what happens when you log out.
You can use PlayLingo without an account. Signing in with Apple or Google protects your progress and lets you open it on another device.
How to sign in
- Open the Profile tab and tap the account card under your languages, or go to Settings → Account.
- Tap Continue with Apple or Continue with Google.
- Confirm with your Apple ID or Google account.
Both work on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android. On Android, Apple sign-in opens in the browser and then returns you to the app.
- If this Apple ID or Google account has no PlayLingo account yet, your current progress becomes your account — nothing moves or resets.
- If you already have an account with it (for example, from another device or before reinstalling), PlayLingo opens it and merges this device’s progress into it.
Using PlayLingo without an account
From the first launch you have an account that opens only on this device. Your words, history and streak are kept in it. But if you delete the app or lose the device, there’s no way to get them back. Sign in to be safe.
The Account screen
When you’re signed in, Settings → Account shows:
- Authentication — how you signed in (Apple or Google) and the email linked to it. Tap the row to log out.
- Devices — where your account is open, with This device and when others were last active.
- Be Careful — Delete account. See Delete account.
Log out
- Go to Settings and tap Log out at the bottom, or tap the sign-in row in Account.
- Confirm Log out.
Your words, history and streak stay in the account. The app returns to the first screen, and they come back when you sign in the same way again. Logging out on one device keeps your other devices signed in.
Common questions
Can I sign in with Google or email?
Google — yes, on every device. Email and password — no; use Apple or Google.
I reinstalled the app and my progress is gone
Sign in the same way you did before — the same Apple ID or Google account — and your account opens with its data. If you never signed in, the progress can’t be restored.
I see “Some progress didn’t transfer”
Your streak and practice history stayed with the previous profile you used before signing in. Your account itself is fine.
