Refund Policy
Effective date: 15 September 2026
We want PlayLingo Pro to be worth it. If something went wrong, this page explains how cancellations and refunds work. This policy is part of our Terms of Use.
1. Where you bought matters
Who issues a refund depends on where you paid:
- In the app (App Store): Apple processes the payment and decides on refunds. We cannot issue or approve refunds for App Store purchases.
- On playlingo.app: Paddle.com is our reseller and Merchant of Record, and processes refunds under this policy and Paddle’s Buyer Terms.
Your receipt tells you which one applies: it comes either from Apple or from Paddle.
2. App Store purchases
To request a refund for a subscription bought in the App Store, go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account, choose “Request a refund” and select PlayLingo. Apple reviews each request under its own rules and usually replies within 24–48 hours. See Apple’s instructions.
Apple may ask us for information about how the subscription was used to help it decide. If you contact us about an App Store charge, we will gladly help you with the steps, but the decision is Apple’s.
3. Website purchases (Paddle)
For PlayLingo Pro bought on our website:
- First payment of a subscription. You can request a full refund within 14 days of your first payment if Pro did not work for you — for example, a technical problem we could not fix, a purchase made by mistake, or if you have barely used Pro features.
- Renewals. Renewal payments are not refundable, except where required by law or where you were charged in error. You can cancel at any time to stop future renewals.
- Duplicate or incorrect charges are always refunded in full.
- We may decline refunds where there is evidence of fraud, abuse or repeated refund requests, or where Pro has been used substantially during the period.
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. Depending on your bank, it can take 5–10 business days to appear. When a refund is issued, Pro access for that period ends.
4. Right of withdrawal (EU, UK and similar)
If you are a consumer in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another country with a similar law, you have a statutory right to withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days.
PlayLingo Pro is a digital service that starts immediately. At checkout you ask for immediate access and acknowledge that, to the extent permitted by law, you lose the right of withdrawal once the service has been provided; where the law instead provides for a proportionate payment for the part of the service already provided, that rule applies. This does not affect the refunds described in section 3 or any other rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
5. Cancelling a subscription
- App Store: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → PlayLingo → Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal.
- Website: use the “manage subscription” link in your Paddle receipt email, or email us and we will cancel it for you.
After cancelling, you keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for. Cancelling does not by itself refund the current period.
6. How to request a refund
For website purchases, you can request a refund in either of these ways:
- through Paddle at paddle.net using the email address you used at checkout; or
- by emailing info@playlingo.app with the email address used at checkout and your order number from the Paddle receipt. A short note about what went wrong helps us fix it.
We reply within 3 business days.
7. Payment disputes
Please contact us before opening a chargeback or dispute with your bank. A refund through Paddle is faster for you, and a chargeback on a valid charge may lead to the subscription being suspended.
